| Lee Priddy began studying guitar in 1984
and started teaching the instrument in 1990. As his reputation followed,
he eventually grew to 83 private students a week. In 2000 he opened Priddy
Guitar Academy and began coaching rock bands as well. He has put his students
on the stages of many notable venues to include Rams Head On Stage, Rams
Head Live, The Reicher Theatre, and the 9:30 Club.
He has studied with a handful of teachers
including Jimmy Cunnigham (U.S. Navy Musician) and Sheryl Bailey (Berklee
Instructor, Award Winner, and Guitar Player Magazine and I-Tunes artist).
He attended AACC, PJC, and Towson State studying Guitar, Music Theory,
Ear Training, Dictation, Voice, and Piano. He also participated in Jazz
Band and Jazz Combo.
Lee has performed professionally in the
Mid-Atlantic region as well as Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia,
Tennessee, and Florida. His specialty is Rock and Jazz, but he is equally
fluent in Funk, R & B, and Reggae. His recording credits include several
side projects as well as a self produced album titled "Colors of
Rhythm" by the Melons. He is currently working on a solo project
he hopes to complete this year. Lee still performs frequently throughout
the Baltimore / DC area, however, the "Academy" and devoting
attention and time to his students are his top priorities.
Additionally, Lee is also the guitar instructor
at Indian Creek School in Crownsville MD. He devotes his time as a clinician
for guitar workshops and teaches after school music programs as well.
He is credited with helping several students get accepted to music programs
at Berklee, Towson, UMBC, and Peabody Conservatory.
Whether it's performing with a band, playing
a solo gig, teaching, or just strumming by the camp-fire, Lee's easy-going
mannerism and dedication to his craft has inspired countless students
to realize their own musical potential, goals, and dreams.
